Whew!

Looks like we should probably ask the original creator of the sloper what gives if we want any answers ... or maybe use another pattern? ;) (I *think* I have a book around here that has instructions on how to do it. Now I just have to find it...)Silverhttp://www.starncrossbones.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25980322.post-6267909055019258542012-09-30T08:06:55.488-04:002012-09-30T08:06:55.488-04:00Strangely I am trying to draft a sloper using the ...Strangely I am trying to draft a sloper using the same set of instructions and have been stumped by the exact same 'wonk'!! My guess is there is a problem with the instructions but I cant work out what:(Yizzardnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25980322.post-61329302509781841972010-08-28T06:16:34.411-04:002010-08-28T06:16:34.411-04:00The corset part has gone much better than the bodi...The corset part has gone much better than the bodice part so far — the drafting went a little bit more slowly but the pattern appears to function much better, which seems like a fair trade to me...

And you know, I think the sloper is just kind of a bear unless you've done it before. I drafted a waistcoat pattern a few years ago without ever having done anything like that before, and it went as easy as you please. Made the best-fitting costume piece I've ever had, too (which of course is why I almost immediately lost that waistcoat after the show I used it in).

Anyway, hopefully my next few costumey posts will unscare you about pattern drafting. My corset isn't going to be beautiful (at least, I'm not planning on making it fancy) because I'm going to use it as an actual undergarment rather than wearing it on the outside of my clothes as seems to be popular among the kiddies these days ... but it should fit, which will be amazing. :DSilverhttp://www.starncrossbones.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25980322.post-90052743045720553922010-08-28T05:59:47.245-04:002010-08-28T05:59:47.245-04:00aaaand this is why I'm scared of pattern draft...aaaand this is why I'm scared of pattern drafting.
